Ron Perlman’s film biz pitch: small stories, common folk = better CNY economy

DeWITT, N.Y. – Ron Perlman’s filmmaking plans for Central New York sound a lot like a Hollywood script.

“Middle class guy makes enough money to put food on the table, raise his kids, put them through school and retire with dignity,” Perlman told reporters today while standing in an Onondaga County soundstage under construction. “That’s what we’re trying to bring back to Central New York.”

Think “Field of Dreams” meets “It’s a Wonderful Life” – with some “Hellboy” attitude thrown in.

New York has green lit the idea.
